Paul Hartle has vacated the 1st XI Captaincy, so the MPCA will be appointing a new 1st XI Captain as they compete in Div 1 of the Carnival.

The 2nd XI will again be by Matty Blake (Crib Point) after a successful campaign in Div 4 last year and now move up to Div 3.

Training sessions will involve both squads as follows (Bring spikes to all sessions):

- Wednesday 25th January at RM Hooper Oval, Graydens Road, Hastings at 5.30pm (Turf Pitch will be used)

- Wednesday 1st February at Frankston Peninsula CC, Jubilee Park, Frankston at 5.30pm

Final sides will be announced after training on Wed Feb 1st with the selected sides to train at Frankston on Feb 8th

Any players invited that cannot commit to the training sessions or to Country Week itself (Feb 13th - 17th) are to contact the team managers:

The MPCA is part of Region 8 along with other Associations West Gippsland, Yarra Valley & Ferntree Gully.

Clubs are asked to get their best Under 21 players to trial for the Region team.

Please provide name and brief description of player and their abilities (left/h, right/h batsman, bowler all-rounder, w’keeper) .

Please check they are available for training on Wed Oct 26^th, Wed Nov 2^nd and a match on Sunday Nov 6^th in Yea, with possible further matches on Sun Nov 20 and Sun Dec 4.

Have them attend our first session (5:30pm till 7pm) at Mornington Indoor Sports, on Wednesday Oct 26^th. Mornington Indoor -Milgate Dve Mornington Map 145 K3

After the first training session, notification will be sent out to Clubs for 2^nd training run.

Second training session at FrankstonPeninsula Heat CC on Wed Nov 2nd: AH Butler Oval Frankston Melways Map 102H4 (Frankston Peninsula CC) - other Association Rep’s (plus team announcement evening).

This VCCL event is a Knock Out competition with the first round match on Sunday November 6th when Region 8 play (Northern Rivers) Region 5 at Yea.

Should Region 8 win next round is Sunday November 21st location TBA

The Final will be held on Sunday December 6^th TBA

If a player cannot attend the first session but is available generally we would like to know.
